LISLE, Ill., January 2012?The netTAP 100 Gateway from Hilscher N.A. now supports Real-Time Ethernet-to-Ethernet connections to bridge all popular Real-Time Ethernet networks. Supported protocols include EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, EtherCAT, Modbus TCP, POWERLINK, and SERCOS III.
The netTAP 100 Gateway is an elegant solution to interconnect the wide variety of industrial networks deployed in modern automation systems. By simply connecting the networks to the plugs provided, the netTAP 100 can exchange data among different networks by acting as a protocol converter, effectively eliminating potential barriers in a company?s network infrastructure.
Flexible netTAP 100 is built on Hilscher?s netX, a single-chip solution with ASIC support for all common protocol-specific industrial network stacks. In addition to Real-Time Ethernet-to-Ethernet, netTAP 100 offers nearly 1,000 protocol-to-protocol combinations for fieldbus, serial and Ethernet gateways. Supported fieldbus systems include DeviceNet, PROFIBUS, CANopen, CC-Link (slave) and Modbus RTU. Custom serial protocols can be easily written using the netSCRIPT scripting tool.
The standard module is available with master and/or slave protocols. The configuration tool is FDT/DTM-based for fast set-up and ease of use. A standard USB port is used for configuration, for loading network firmware, and for diagnostics. The IP-rated, DIN Rail-mounted netTAP 100 also supports both Flash and SD cards for storage, duplication and transfer of configuration data to other gateway modules.
Pricing for netTAP 100 starts at under $300. An IP67 protection-rated version, called netBRICK, is also available for harsh industrial environments.
