At SPS IPC Drives Fair in Nuremberg Germany in November, Hilscher demonstrated its collaboration with 20 companies, including:
- A consortium of SAP, Endress & Hauser, Pepperl & Fuchs and SAMSON, showed the auto-connectivity of devices to the SAP Asset Intelligent Network and an intelligent I4.0 scenario where the machine itself detects if the right device is integrated.
- Together with IBM, Hilscher showed the implementation of cyber-physical systems into the IBM Industrie 4.0 Reference Architecture as well as a configurable rule-based engine for predictive maintenance. Also introduced was the netIOT STARTERKIT, showing how IBM Bluemix and Watson IoT can enhance production lines through cognitive ability.
The DEVICE INFORMATION PORTAL, a (customizable) hub for device descriptions, was launched.
Hilscher's Jamie Gallant attended an OPC Foundation press conference to give a presentation of Hilscher's embedded support for OPC UA in the netX FAMILY OF ASICs.
